Dreamweaver FTP Error - Cannot make connection to the host

Just in case anyone else encounters this issue, here’s a quick fix.

The scenario. You can connect to an FTP site in your browser, via an FTP program, but not from the built-in Dreamweaver FTP tool.

Solution
Your Dreamwever settings are timing out too quickly.

In Dreamweaver go to:
Edit –> Preferences –> Site –> FTP Timeout

Set the FTP Timeout to 30 seconds, or 60 seconds. Try connecting now.
