Google Page Rank & Relevant Links

In an earlier article we discussed how generating massive links was not the end all for success in obtaining a high Google Page Rank (see article).

What does work is to generate as many link backs as possible from relevant, related websites. The traditional way to do this is to launch your site, load it up with great content, and sit back and wait for people to notice your site and link to you.

Pretty simple - and pretty lengthy. This approach can take years to show any real success.

What We Do
At Greg Banig Design & Marketing we rely on our internet Public Relations strategies to also accomplish a successful link building campaign.

This is a great way to achieve 2 major marketing initiatives at the same time. The internet PR campaign builds brand awareness and promotes your business. The same internet PR campaign also assists with your search engine marketing strategies.

Here’s Some Examples
Following are some examples of how we use internet PR to build relevant, related links.

Press Releases: Be sure to include your website url in all press releases, particularly with press releases distributed online. Web pages that include your press release are typically related websites with similar content and audiences.

RSS: RSS, really simple syndication, is the process of making content feeds available. This easily allows individuals, and other websites, to receive and display content from your site…including articles and content that contain links back to your site.

Forums & Discussion Boards: Manually posting to related message boards (not automated spam postings) is another option for gaining awareness and links back to your site. Whether you include your link in the main content of your posting or include it as part of your poster’s signature file will vary from board to board.

Build Relevant Links to Increase Google Page Rank
In summary…massive unrelated links bad…related relevant links good. Sounds simple. And, if you take steps to strategically plan your PR and marketing efforts it’s possible to achieve both your online PR goals and your search engine marketing goals at the same time.
